9am(ante meridian) as this is generally accepted that 6 am-12midday is classed as morning,then 9 am would therefore be the division of the morning period,in the same vein that 3pm(post meridien)would be classed as mid afternoon,being as midday is classed from 12 noon to 1800 hours,after which time approx,1900 hours would be the commencement of evening,leading up to midnight,at which time the cycle would repeat itself,i hope this clarifies your question,further information can be obtained from jesus college cambridge,where i am doing a degree course.ask for professor alec smart,meteorological & natural history studies.thank you for a most interesting subject,
