even this liberal organization admits it

http://www.catalogueforphilanthropy.org/cfp/db/generosity.php?year=2004

It's a proven fact. The most generous people are people who vote REPUBLICAN. The top 25 most generous states consist of people who voted for Bush in 2004.

*computed by taking each state’s average income and average charitable contribution

It didn't take long for the bigots to show up to bash religious organizations, did it?

Again, for people with reading comprehension issues: calculations are based rank of each state's average adjusted gross income to the rank of each state's average itemized charitable deductions

Dems think the innefficient govt should be the one's giving their money away to charity since they dont know any better. Republicans like the idea of personal responsibility and give it away themselves.

I would presume that this information is skewed for several reason:
1. In most cases, Republicans earn more money than Democrats, and it would naturally be expected that they give more money to charity;
2. How is 'charity' defined? Almost certainly, Republicans would give more to political causes, which - if those causes are considered charitable organizations - would predictably increase the charitable 'giving' of Republicans;
3. By combining the 'cons' and the 'libs', the ratio would almost certainly be skewed in the Republican states;
4. One might rationally assume that many of these charitable trusts and foundations are fronts for politically-motivated functions, which would also give rise to a dominant Republican form of 'giving';
5. Finally, writing a check is not the only way one can 'give' to charity. I'd question how many Republicans work at food banks or soup kitchens; actually give of their time to help the poor, the needy, the sick, the elderly, and the underprivileged; or invest any worthwhile energy in the actual work necessary for charitable organizations to function. -RKO- 08/04/07

RKO, you statement that cons make more money than libs doesn't wash. Let's look at a short list:
Bill Gates
Warren Buffet
Ted Kennedy
John Kerry
John Edwards
Oprah Winfrey
Rosie O'Donnell
Sean Penn
Ted Turner
The reason is that dems want to force charity through taxation and the repubs give through caring

i do no longer understand all the arguments approximately blue or pink or maybe pink...This united states of america won't return those jackals to the White abode. in the event that they do then we could constantly get precisely what we deserve.pink and blue...Ha! Who cares. you will could have severe motives to decide for to bypass back to that. i could see Obama dropping if in actuality it replaced right into a known element like in 08,yet its no longer he's the only logical option to make. the two that are they only blatantly hate Obama lots very like the congress and would vote in Sarah Palin just to rid of The President.

Because Republicans generally have more money than Democrats...proving they're the more fiscally responsible of the two parties as a whole.
Lefties call this "greed"....while the right says the left is only full of sour grapes.

Since we lower taxes, we have more money to give to charity than Democrats who raise taxes and waste the money on govt programs that don't work.

Who do they give this money TO? Those multi-million dollar corporations they like to call churches? Yeah, Churches are very poor and needy... how charitable of Republicans to make sure that Pastor Bob can drive a Beamer and sport a Rolex! Shame on Democrats for lacking such altruism.

It's a fundamental difference between the two parties. Republicans like to pick and choose who they will be "generous" towards. Democrats think that all humans, regardless of race or religion, are entitled to be treated humanely and with compassion.
