It is not my personal opinion, but there are reasons why it may be. Americans say their country is the best, however, they have the less healthy people, one of the highest birth dead rate, the worst health care system in a developed country, and one of the less balanced economy, the most expensive medications, etc.
What if some one say "I have the best woman in the world, my woman is even better than yours, and than everyone's woman.", However, you woman may be the fattest, invade other women's house.
Now, if you say "my woman is the best woman for me" then people wont dislike you, because now you say it is the best, but only for yourself.
Can you name two subject in which USA is number one in the world? And don't say freedom. Because if you are called "without patriotism" for questioning your government, you don't have freedom. And many country have freedom. Nor economy, even thought it is the country with more money, it is also the one where people have to work the most.

We're hated because we're greedy, selfish, slothful, evil, dangerous bullies. We represent 5% of the world's population and yet squander 55% of the global resources.
We throw our weight around, threatening any nation we want to intimidate all in "our best interests" (which can be interpreted to mean, "Why is OUR oil underneath THEIR sand?").
We think we're the only nation on Earth entitlted to defend itself with nuclear weapons of mass destruction, stupidly believing that some "wacko" won't get into the Oval Office and push the red button that blows up the entire world.
We think we're superior to everybody else, including those who practice different religions, dress differently, speak different languages, or enjoy different cultures.
We're a "money-mad" society, indulging our every whim as citizens of the richest nation on Earth, yet selfishly ignore the plight of our own underprivileged, poor, elderly, sick, unemployed, disadvantaged, disabled, hungry or homeless citizens.
We think it's acceptable for us to drive gas-guzzling SUVs and Hummers while the rest of the world should be satisfied with more fuel-efficient automobiles, mopeds, scooters, bicycles or walking paths.
We don't want to help keep the environment safe and clean by using mass transportation or attending to the delicate ecological balance between all men, plants and animals so necessary ot our survival.
We have no concerns about the world's crumbling infrastructure or environmental issues because it might force us to be inconvenienced with recycling, alternative (and less profitable) fuels, or other discomforts.
Why wouldn't people hate us? -RKO- 08/04/07

A lot of what you say is true. Like many Americans, I am not happy with the way the country is being run right now. But I do have hope for the future. And also like many Americans, I cannot imagine living anywhere else.

These are your personal opinions about Americans And if you have never been to America then you really would not understand. I'm not entitled to say that America is the best place for me because i have not left these states.Just like your not entitled to make a general statement about every American because you do not know every American. People usually judge others so that they feel better about them selves.

Well, many people in the world would love to live there. Which is why they have such an immigration problem. The countries you mention, although you don't name, probably don't have the same problems with people risking life and limb to get in there.

"Can you name two subject in which USA is number one in the world?"
1. Inventions.
2. Business.
And the USA is hated becasue it is the only superpower left. When Russia was around, all countries who hated Russia, were the U.S.'s "BFF" No longer the case, but it is OK for the US, so long as everyone keeps copying us, we'll be fine. Long live Coca Cola, denim jeans and Rock and Roll.

Dude, I don't give a rat's patootie if the rest of the world doesn't like us here in the US. They will still come running like little girls when someone tries to blow up their countries and the US will respond and get the job done, just like it always has.
