I've never seen anyone start one because they normally start themselves. Just get a seed and plant it in the ground. Mimosa trees grow like a weed. I personally love them. I think the flowers are beautiful pink and fluffy, despite the fact they do make a mess. However, there are people who consider them a noxious weed. Seriously though they really are that easy to start.
