How hard has it been to able to adjust?

Well, it can be tough indeed. I was not quite 40 when I found out I was getting divorced. Just hang in there and don't go mental over the first person you date!
There are literally dozens of people that you may meet and you need to guard against the temptation to latch onto and marry the first one that looks promising.
Take time to be comfortable with you before you do anything too serious.

SAME HERE!! MARRIED 25 YEARS, TO MY BEST FRIEND AND SOUL MATE, HE PASSED AWAY, 2 YEARS AGO ALMOST, AND ITS BEEN VERY HARD TO ADJUST! LOST EVERY THING, AND HAD TO MOVE IN WITH MY BRO. AND HES FAMILY, FOR A YEAR, JUST LATELY MOVED ON MY OWN, AND GETTING ON WITH MY LIFE,, SO, MAYBE IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHY A PERSON BECOMES SUDDENLY SINGLE!! ITS HARD NO MATTER WHAT THE REASON IS.

I am now 84 years old; I have no blood family left;my wife died 17 years ago; I have no children, not even a dog.and live alone. It has been and continues to be a nightmare for me. If someone said that they would give me millions of dollars if I would relive these past 17 years, I would tell them to get stuffed. If I had a worse enemy, (which I do not) I wouldn't wish my life on him or her.

It would be hard if you are used to having a partner around.
Rather than thinking about what you have lost why not think about all the things you have always wanted to do but couldn't .

darned hard. there are very few quality ladies who are interested in a balding, pot - bellied, handicapped old man. there are plenty who might be willing to say " I love you " but once they get what they want it is " so long Sucker. "
for ladies am certain there are many males who take advantage of them, too.so it is not a one - way street.

Easy...just get on myspace and you'll have 1000 guys a day hit on you (some might even be single...lol).
