This is indeed a tragedy. I used a Shiseido perfume called ONOUI. My spelling could be off. I adored it and then it was discontinued. Years later I found out by accident that it was only discontinued in Australia and could still be purchased in Japan. L'Occitane had a cologne called VANILLA BOURBON and it smelt like the dessert TRIFLE. Whenever I attended a dinner party, the other guests would say I THINK WE ARE HAVING TRIFLE FOR DESSERT, I CAN SMELL IT and I would say THAT IS ME! and they would all sniff me. When it was discontinued I was inconsolable. I don't know why they did it as it was very popular. I got a bottle of bourbon and soaked vanilla pods in it for a month and sloshed it over me. It smelt the same but didn't last long. I think I should have actually used the beans instead of the pods and left it for a year instead of 4 weeks. I am going to get a perfume book and try to duplicate it. I think it brought back memories of those barmaids who used to watch out for me when dad was at the pub.
Elizabeth Arden has a lip cream that stops your lipstick bleeding and that has been around as an excellent product for 30 years or so. If they discontinued that I would have to stop wearing lipstick.
Alyssa Ashley had a Musk Oil that was wonderful but it disappeared. I think you can still get it somewhere, but by mail order. The bottle caps would never screw on properly because the oil was so thick and they would leak. When I was in France, people would stop me on the street and ask what perfume I was wearing.
Chanel had a red lipstick that was discontinued and I was upset about that.
What about when you are in love with the current fashion and then suddenly it changes to something that doesn't suit you and is hideous? Those handbags now that are covered in chrome or brass studs.....uuugh. Some are nice (the expensive ones) but most are yukky.
Changing the subject here, there was a chain of vegetarian health food shops called SANITARIUM and they had mock chicken patties to die for and they discontiinued them. They contained I think, mashed potatoes or rice, and peas, and were a brown colour and most moist delicious. I used to go out and get the staff lunches and lugged all these patties back to the office where the staff would meet me at the door.

This has happened to me in the past, and what could I do? The beauty house that I support has this rule that if 20% of users report anything negative about any product it gets discontinued. They had an eye serum that I absolutely adored and then it got discontinued. I was so disappointed that I was actually upset with 'that' 20%! lol.

Probably cry. My skin (afro-carribean/white) is very hard to find concealer/foundation for. So if one of those were taken off the market, I would be very upset and not leave the house for about a million years.
