I have an old discusting bathtub with ugly blue tile surrounding it and a nasty sliding glass door that collects mold like no tomorrow. I'm limited with $$$ and was looking to line my bathtub and bathtub walls. Does anyone have any idea how much this might cost me. I have a few contracters coming out to give me quotes and I just want to make sure they don't take advantage of me.

Sit down and take a deep breath before you look at the estimate. I am guessing it will be close to $1000. The only thing you save by doing this is the mess. Look at Home Centers and you will find many tubs for less than $300. The shower doors can be removed. From other Forums I belong to, new installs are less than having a bath fitter come in.

thats nothing, I have that ugly blue tub, with matching toilet and vanity...... and pink tile surrounding my bathroom. So don't feel as you have the worst.

I will be ripping everything out in about another month though.

what you could do is paint the tile and tub. do a search for painting tubs and tile. I had thought about doing that, but I decided to just rip everything out instead and get rid of the tile altogether. good luck with whatever you do.

i'm betting your not gonna be too happy with the price, they do have liners for the tub and wall both but the complete combo isn't cheap, although cheaper than getting a new tub,and a lot less mess too,the price varies depending on the grade of the unit you get, expect to pay several hundred for a complete lining of tub and wall,a few hundred for walls only, and that's with a cheap kit
