Maybe dark energy is simply the accumulated memories of the times when stars passed through, echoes of gravity through time. Dark energy would be the lingering effect of stars gravitational influences. Stars would be dimensionally shut out from this past, but could bounce perfectly off of it like a wall. This would mean that dark energy is locked in the past, unattainable. This bouncng would explain the anti-gravity effect. Also, because more dark matter would be created as time wore on, it's effects would incease in power...that would explain the increasing acceleration of the universe...

Goring: I know that my surmise is pure speculation. However, I know that the acceleration of the universe is a fact. They have known since 1998.

If dark matter/energy was indeed in a sealed off dimension it could be repulsive and still have a gravitational effect. Energy would be attracted to it, but could not enter. That's what "dimensionally shut out" means. Such energy would bounce off of the wall of attraction, an be repulsed...
