braxton hicks are supposedly painless 'tightenings' around your middle section. They are just practice contractions.
You can get them as early as 18wks+.
Look out for when your tummy just goes rock hard all of a sudden and lasts for a minute or two. Can go on for a few minutes or an hour.

My 2nd pregnancy had the worst braxton hicks in final 8 weeks. I thought I was going to go into labour at exactly 9pm every second night. It was very weird.
I would be on the floor, bum in air, panting it was so bad. But it only lasted about 20mins and then would stop. The night I went into labour (40wks 2days) it happened at 9pm again, but this time I knew it was the real thing, and they didn't stop.

Some people never feel them or get them till the very end.

Good luck with new baby!

I am 39 weeks with #2 and have been experiencing Braxton Hicks since my 20th week or so. It feels like you're tightening your abs and your uterus/belly becomes very hard. They do not hurt, but they can be annoying sometimes because they put alot of pressure on your bladder when you get farther along! Braxton Hicks are a way of your uterus "practicing" for labor.

My Dr. said not to worry about them unless I was having more than 5 in an hour, or they became painful. Sometimes mine will last just 30 seconds or they can last a few minutes. My dr said to try changing positions to help ease the tension. Good luck to you!

Practice contractions. Nothing to worry about, but it's hard to tell real contractions from the B-H's sometimes.

Seven months is a little early, but not abnormally early. Talk to your OB/GYN about it to get the best and most updated info.
