This afternoon. And this evening I went out for a walk with family and took off my flip-flops and walked along the road bare-footed... couldn't resist!
Now my feet are all dirty... but I don't really care... LOL

I didn't run barefoot across blacktop, but I did walk across hot blacktop barefoot one time to use an ATM at a bank.

I'm always barefoot, but the last time the pavement was hot was July 2006.

a number of those could you... barefoot for... are stupid. A warm mall automobile parking zone isn't any project in any respect in climate as much as one hundred stages F, or perhaps in over one hundred stages F it could basically be had to often stroll by way of shade. The stay overall performance tickets could be an elementary win. If I drove, that's not correct if i did not get my shoes lower back. If i did not, i could nonetheless locate sidewalks and shade to stroll the longer distance to the closest bus stop by means of the mall.

i was maybe 8 years old and playing with sandy and katie
They took their shoes off, but couldnt take the heat. I have really weird callouses on my feet, so I was prancing about like a little antelope. went barefoot the rest of the day.

It has been several years. As kids we used to do it all the time on the path to the beach. Burned our feet that way, but still kept doing it.

*sigh* I miss my childhood. I remember that feeling. As an adult, I usually wear shoes and it's been about 12 years.

I didn't run across blacktop asphalt but I did stand on it and walk as slowly as possible on it this afternoon. I was reminded today how air temperature with humidity makes it feel hotter in the air and makes blacktop asphalt especially feel especially HOT.
It was "only" 91 degrees F today with a heat index of 97 degrees during peak heat. Although the feet did not blister--the soles are quite burned. Even though the feet got mostly cleaned at a self service car wash--there is still enough ingrained dirt to make the soles appear gray. The balls of the feet feel sore from all the burning and they still stinging almost an hour after finishing barefooting today. That means walking will be that much more delicate until tomorrow afternoon. Touching the rest of the foot except for the heel stings a bit too. All the calluses were burned very white when the soles were dirty, so they still appear white enough with even with a mostly clean sole.
Tomorrow's forecast just got increased. They were predicting 92 degrees with a heat index of 98 degrees. Now they are saying 96 degrees tomorrow. If I assume the same 6 degrees higher heat index, that's a heat index of 102 degrees. That's what I've been waiting for: not quite desert heat, but still HOT! HOT! HOT! I'm still going to go out during afternoon peak heat--standing and walking on blacktop asphalt for as long as possible before needing shade. Blisters might even occur from heat that hot, but that is normal and expected as part of getting the feet used to that much heat more quickly.
