hi, try using a better grade of gas. You'll get better performance with plus or super. If that doesnt help, go to a service center. The computer might be misreading the signals. You may have a sensor that is going bad, so the computer gets a different signal from all the other components. Most late model cars have on board computers that are programmed for maximum fuel efficiency or performance. There are "chips" available to change things or reconfigure your computer. Good Luck!!

Did you put in regular gas instead of the stated premium gas? Some cars require the premium gas because the engine is tuned to maximize on the higher octane that premium fuel has. If it only has regular gas, the fuel/air mixture may not be correct and cause the pinging. I'd suggest putting in a couple tankfuls of premium and see if the pinging goes away. If you want in the short term, you can put in some octane booster until you get a chance to fill the tank with premium gas.

Your car may like premium fuel. Exhaust gas recirculation might be clogged up with carbon. And the real cause of pining Pre-detonation is carbon glowing on the piston or Cyl head that ignites fuel as it enters the Cyl. Several ways to help this carbon condiditon is when safe floor the engine and let it pull as hard as it can. Additives like Techron and top cyl lubricant help clean engines.
