if you ask DELL that question , they will say to get it from them(of course) but as long as you get RAM with same speed/type(SDR) you should be fine.

yes as long as you match it with the same specs you currently have. And sdram has been around for a while DDR is the more current and popular memory used. Chances are you have an older system and you may want to think about a motherboard, processor and ram upgrade package to improve your performance.

You can buy it from anyone as long as it is compatable. Go to www.crucial.com and go thru the steps and it will tell you what kind you need. It will even give you some recomendations and prices. Sometimes they have the best price, sometimes not. I just bought memory for my Dell laptop there, by far the best price!

You can use a ram with same specifications of any supplier. Generally I prefer Kingston for my own usage. But It may be hard to find that type of memory. Additionaly, you can use parts from different suppliers together if their specifications are identical.

You could probably just go to wal-mart or best buy, etc. to get your RAM. I don't think it should matter.

yes you can but you should be aware for the type(ddr,ddr2) and the bus(333,400 for ddr and 533,667,800 ddr2)
