IF (i.e. Assuming) Earth, and the exercise of living, is ultimately all about the Evolution of Life, then the most pointless thing on Earth is that which goes against, and/or is inherently incompatible with, Evolution.

Most of the so-called Western "economy". Consumerism creating wants instead of catering for needs. Spending more money on space adventures (mostly for ego) than we spend solving the problems on Earth. Arguing about religion. Population growth. So called political "debate" which is mostly manipulation for power and very little to do with reasonable discussion. I could go on .... but all that will do for us, one way or another.
