The egg came first. There is no chicken anywhere that came from anywhere except an egg.

The first complete DNA representing a true chicken was donated by two parents that were not true chickens. Thus the first true chicken egg hatched into the first true chicken. The egg came first.

Depends on the theory. In evolution, the amniotic egg evolved first. If you believe in Intelligent Design, the chicken came first, as God created the "fowls of the air." Hence, chickens, although the domestic varieties aren't very strong fliers.

a population of birds that were not chickens (wild jungle fowl) were domesticated by humans and artificially bred to produce a population of chickens. there was no single first chicken. it is true that chickens were intelligently designed in a manner of speaking, but we don't have to be coy about the designer, it was humans.
