what timing marks do i use thanks

Always give year, make, engine size and model # when asking questions. We need all of that info to give an informed answer.
The year can make a difference sometimes and whether it's a 2x4 or 4x4.
Anyway....the left side cover - the top inspection cap - line up the mark on the flywheel with the center of the hole, when the piston is at TDC.
The cam sprocket - the sprocket pin should be at the top.
