five star hotels are definitely much better to stay in. rooms are cleaner, design is somewhat better...basically more spacious. they got spa, fitness gyms, swimming pool, tennis court...list goes on. depends on what you prefer. personally, i like Shangrila Edsa or you could also try Sofitel (renovated rooms and not the unrenovated ones with the yucky bathrooms). If you like the nightlife then go for Shangrila makati.
