Old fashioned or not the proper answer is Dear Sir or Madam. You have made a good choice in wanting to do it the right way. It can be very off-putting to receive a letter that is improperly constructed. You are apt to receive a better response when the letter, the grammar and the spelling all meet the standards of office correspondence etiquette. Good luck.

I would say yes then I would go on one knee and do the same thing to her and ask her for her hand in marriage.

Provided the relationship is a good one and I am in the frame of mind to get married, (and she looks remotely as attractive as you) I suppose I would say yes.

There is no law that I know of that states the man is the one who has to propose, if my girl did what you're suggesting, I say yes in a heartbeat. You go girl ! (I hope he says yes)

Depends if I was thinking of marrying her, so the answer would be no, or not yet.

It may be old fashion but I think it is the man's job to ask and a woman's job to make sure you ask in a timely fashion.

I'd say, "No, but you can marry me." and show her the 3 karat diamond ring that I had prepared for her.

I would say her that, " Dear, there is no doubt I Love you very much. But it is not any hard core rule that to marry those who love you."

I would feel weird. But I'd have to say NO, cause I don't think my old lady would understand.
