This could also be a result of an inflammatory condition called costochondritis. It is an inflammation of the cartillage around the ribcage. When the symptoms occur it can sometimes make one think they are having a heart attack or having problems with their lungs as well.

I have this and part of the symptoms of this affected my breasts.

But I would definitely recommend she get another opinion and preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor she currently sees.

There is no herbal alternative to ibuprofen. It really is difficult for anyone, even a doctor, to comment on a patient who is in the process of undergoing investigation by other specialists and without access to any to the patients results. She does not seem to actually have much of a diagnosis, and it really is not on to just abandon a patient who is so obviously symptomatic. I am sorry to say I can only suggest that she re-attends her doctor and tries to get more answers, help and indeed more sympathetic management.

Make the doctor's pay attention to her don't give up. It took over 12 years for them to find out what was wrong with me....so don't give up. Please. Just go to another doctor just like that other person said. Go across town. But get a second, third, forth or even fifth! She knows her body and she knows something is wrong. If there is pain something is wrong! I hope this helps.
