WE assume that opposite means that one mass is very dense and the other is the opposite =not very dense at all.
When the two different masses interact a gravity phenomena comes into play ,the smaller mass will move faster toward the larger mass and the larger mass will move slower,till they will be brought together to touch(this is called collision).
However if the densities of two identical masses is very large and interact at close proximity ,the opposite of collision occurs; It is repulsion. The two masses cannot actually touch even though they are at close proximity.
Therefore we can say that the gravity phenomenon is one of atraction as well as repulsion.

It requires energy to move an electronic charge or a magnetic field and the attraction of opposites ensures that zero energy is created nor destroyed.

On a negative charge. the electrons don't like each other and try to escape to a positive charge. by doing so they pull it towards them to creat an equiibreum between them
