The reason for the liberal attitudes a pretty simple from my perspective.... I think that people who believe that are just plain LAZY. If everyone is responsible for everyone else, than no one must be responsible for THEMSELVES!!!!! Think about this: If student "A" doesn't learn enough to function in society while in school, and therefor can't support himself as an adult, then society must support him and his family. I am not against having a safety net for society, but in America, we just make it too easy to fail. Our lowest level of society receives enough support to have multiple T.V.s, a/c, an automobile, a home, health care and not have to do anything to receive it, except breathe. Socialism failed in the soviet union, and it will fail everywhere else that it is tried.

Some people consider themselves to be "more enlightened" about the world than others. To them their viewpoints are always correct and those who do not accept or agree with their viewpoints are the ignorant and unwashed dregs of society. Many do have extremely radical views which they press upon others. Radicalism, either left or right, has no place in the classroom. Balanced facts should always be present to students for their own consideration and determination. But as long as we have schools and teachers we will also have people who go beyond the curriculum and interject and emphasize their own personal beliefs into the teaching of their class. Just follow your own moral compass and beliefs. Don't worry about the others because there is nothing that you can do to change them. Always remember the old saying - "And this too will pass."

Well, I think this is a loaded question & I don't believe you are a high school student but...
Only those on the far left would remotely resemble socialists & I'm sure your "classroom" isn't like Moscow circa 1982 but...
I would imagine the students who get all the F's would be the ones who want stuff for free without having to work for it...
Most "hippies" are all old, grey and retired or close to it by now...

i remember form LONG ago that about half of the teachers in my high school were conservative, and the other half were liberal.
we OFTEN discussed political views, pros and cons of BOTH parties.
i came home from school and told me Da what i had found out about both parties from a fairly unbiased discussion led by a woman social studies teacher, and that i believed that less federal government intrusion was the way to go....
i was rebuffed by me Da, and he made it VERY clear to me that i was NOT a republican. i was from a LONG line of working class men, and that i would not bring this up again.
after school i joined the carpenters union, opposed Reagan, Bush 1, and rejoiced with my brotherhood of carpenters when the Clinton era began.
i began to drive tractor trailer semi over the road in 2000, and was in Angola, Indiana when i woke up on 9/11/2001. things began to change all over this country and at the Canada border.
i supported Clinton, even through the first Bush2 term... throwing all kinds of insults at his supporters. i was still buying into the Working Man's Party when John Kerry ran against Bush2....
Slowly, through the last 7 years, i have become disillusioned with the democrap party, and i am unaffiliated with any political party.
Since my upbringing was VERY STRICT and VERY CHRISTIAN, i NEVER could condone things that the democrap party INCREASINGLY was favoring, so, i QUIT them altogether.
Now, i am kind of a Nowhere man, and all of my concern is for my wife and our six kids. And, since i am a worry-wort, i am hyper vigilant when it comes to raising my kids.
This world is HIGH on immorality, and, Jesus said that if the coming great tribulation is not cut short, that NO FLESH will survive on the Earth. THAT is how BAD things are going to become. i am not trying to scare yous, but if the Bible says it, there is NOTHING that will prevent it.
Young lady, HOLD FAST your integrity to God, DRAW CLOSE to Him, and He will save you.
Keep up the good work, K?

Teenagers are not stupid. They are just ignorant. They do not have the ability to educate themselves as you have.
The reason they have socialist tendencies, especially those with poor grades; is because they expect a hand out. They have been raised to view those who succeed as evil and to expect the government to be their crutch in life. These failing students then can justify that their poor grades are not a function of improper studying; but instead, a function of poor education facilities. Essentially, they are able to blame others for their problems.
Be strong against liberal teachers, they will only get worse in college. I wish you luck.

I know the feeling Jessica, I grew up during the hippie, free love, dope and all that crap decade, even when I was a little boy I already hated what I saw this Country becoming as far as that went, My heroes were the American servicemen, and thats what I became and thats what my sons are, someone has to protect their rights to spew whatever.
Just stand for your beliefs and don't waiver, others will do what they are going to do, you just hold tough, just remember that you have to look at your self in the mirror every night before you go to sleep, That;s refreshing to read that a young person feels like this. Thanks
P.S. It's ok with people like Jupiter as long as you agree with their views but of course if you don't, you are automatically a bigot, racist, fur lover,etc.. But I'm sure you already have alot of "Jupiters" that you go to school with, don't let them intimidate you because they think they are good at that but you are better, always will be

Sorry to hear that school is letting you down.
Most teanagers according to your opion are not socialist.
Most would suggest millions of people between the age of 12 to 19 would have a well grounded eduction to distingush between socialism, commuism, marxism and capitalism, ologarchy ect ect....
your opion that they are stupid, is also alittle skewed.
if your opion is well thought out then it suggest
that most teenagers are getting Fs
are stupid and hence socialist.
Dont worry you don't have to listen, or learn.
however if you listen you could hear arguments for one postition and then come up with counter arguments for your world view...
so that you can stay.....uh...smart.

It has something to do with Jesus I think .
All that love your neighbor stuff and healing the sick .
Without Jesus I think people would never even consider helping the sick or the old with social security .
I know some people who have 80and 90 year old grandparents who have collected way more then they paid in and have not worked for 15-25 years .
Hell some times when the working spouse dies they keep giving it to the surviving one .
Its nuts to give money away for nothing . Let their kids take care of them if they did not earn enough to play cards all day and sit in doctors offices waiting for free care and medicines .
We have to accept that people need to die .
If you can not support yourself then its time to go .
No one but Jesus would be mad if we let people just die or starve to death if they were unable to care for themselves .
Have like a pound for old people and when no one comes by to adopt them then you just put them down like we do cats and dogs that no one wants to care for .
Endlessly taking care of people is just silly and I agree with you that socialism is the root of all things bad in a working capitalist market .
When I was in school they use to call it social studies not history class . Thats where this flawed logic started and the teachers are nuts for spreading it .
In this world you have to be tough or others will drag you down .
By the way an education is only going to net you an income working for others .
They do not teach you how to manage or start your own business in school .
It comes from a strong desire to take control of your destiny .
You should consider working and saving money early .
That 100,000 dollar student loan could be seed money for a multi billion dollar empire .
Dozens of the worlds billionaires dropped out of school to make fortunes .
Just how many top ceo's do you know .
I bet none and you never will .
4-5 thousand multi millionaire ceo's around this country and that means that less then .0175% of all the people in this country of 300,000,000 . people ever get that kind of job . Good luck rising to the top with those odds against you .

A quote by former Prime Minister of England, Winston Churchill, is the best explanation for why young people are Socialist: "If at 20 you're not a Liberal, you don't have a heart. But if by 40 you're not a Conservative, you don't have a brain."
Teenagers are Socialist because they don't understand that "feel good" policies that ignore reality often do far more harm than good. Teens want to imagine themselves as instant experts in everything. They don't have the patience to really research an issue and become a legitimate expert, and Socialism is a great escape. You don't need real facts, you just need to present an issue cloaked in words like "fair", "equitable", "just", and "compassionate". Libs just eat this stuff up.
Young people believe they have all the answers, but are often still thinking at the 8th grade level in terms of politics, and what is reasonable, fair, and feasible.
Do you watch Comedy Central? Stephen Colbert is a comedic genius, and whether he leans towards the right or left is unimportant. He is hilarious, and he makes some wry observations. Here is what he said about youth and cynicism:
"Remember, you cannot be both young and wise. Young people who pretend to be wise to the ways of the world are mostly just cynics. Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don't learn anything. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us. Cynics always say no. But saying "yes" begins things. Saying "yes" is how things grow. Saying "yes" leads to knowledge. "Yes" is for young people. So for as long as you have the strength to, say "yes." "
* -* - *- *- *- *- *-* -* - *- *- *- *- *-* -* - *- *- *- *- *-* -* - *- *- *- *- *-* -* - *- *- *- *- *-
The reason this is so important is that Socialsist thinking (and Communism) is the ultimate in cynicism. These philosophies and economic models take the position that people aren't smart enough to make the most important decisions in their lives for themselves.
Think about that. Socialists essentially are saying that people never really reach the intellectual level of adulthood, and therefore can't be trusted to make decisions for themselves. Look what (Socialist) Hillary Clinton said:
"We just can't trust the American people to make those types of choices.... Government has to make those choices for people."
(From the book "I've Always Been A Yankee Fan" by Thomas D. Kuiper, p 20 - Hillary to Rep. Dennis Hastert in 1993 discussing her expensive, disastrous taxpayer-funded health care plan)
How about Socialists' concept of money? They believe that your money really belongs to the government, and you should be grateful for what the Feds allow you to keep. Read another juice Hillary quote:
"Many of you are well enough off that [President Bush's] tax cuts may have helped you. We're saying that for America to get back on track, we're probably going to cut that short and not give it to you. We're going to have to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."
(Hillary grandstanding at a fund raising speech in San Francisco; SFGate.com 6/28/2004.)
When your classmates spout Socialist nonsense, you might want to question why they want to ally themselves with the party that gets practically all the votes from the following groups: lazy welfare mommas, drug addicts, aging douche-bag hippies, dumb-as-a-rock Hollywood stars who barely graduated High School, along with the even less intelligent ranks of pampered, whining, overpaid NBA, many of whom are lucky to have some athletic ability; otherwise, they would be qualified for nothing except stealing cars and dealing drugs.
Do you watch Bill O'Reilly on Fox News? You can stay one step ahead of everyone by watching his news analysis, and getting information found nowhere else.
Just remember what Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert said about cynicism, the lifeblood of Socialists. Cynicism is a zero sum game. Nothing gets accomplished by people trying to be clever and hip by spouting nihilistic garbage about how the future is bleak and only the government can save us. Just remember the punk movement in the late 1970s with Sid Vicious, and his ilk. They sang about how England was finished, and anyone who believed in the future is just an idiot dreaming.
England is doing better than anyone could have imagined back then. So, who was the smart one? The punk cynics or Conservatives like Margaret Thatcher who saw a bright future?

That is one of the evils of liberal influences on our education system. Most kids are impressionable and easy to mold. If you are really the free thinker you claim to be...run with it and don't let anybody change it. Believe me, stupid people wil always be around.
