all over the news it only talks about the war, so we just don't watch it anymore but then something new comes on. thats why we don't know anything about the very world we live in. i think its quit simple, in order to understand the world around us, we must understand ourselves. do you agree that americans pay more attention to other countries?

i must have a point, you see how much our government has changed. even without our permission. laws being passed and rights being demolished.

Why do Americans pay more attention to other countries is because everyone hates Americans. Very easy question. Always keep your eye on your enemy.

J: Sometimes I think Americans are politically like lazy little children looking for a parent leader who will do all their decision making and thinking for them. Don't think that Karl Rove does not know how to exploit this. This may explain how we sleep walked into Bush's war of choice and permitted Bush's war on the Constitution and basic civil rights. As for paying attention to other countries, I wonder how many Americans actually do. Not that many of them had passports or even traveled much. It seems more as if the
country was under a silvered bell jar and just saw its own culture and values reflected back through the media.
It may be too late, but we are coming to see this current administration of con artists and war criminals for who they really are : corporate fascists. I just wonder if the damage they have done is irreversible.

Your country (the US) has to go to war to procure energy and economic power so you can keep the level of your daily life...it makes you wonder...why doesn't the US go to war in Africa? the answer is: there's no oil there, people are starving there and they suffer from Aids....but the Arab countries have the fountain of life OIL that's why.....if they leave the area you will start going to work or school on a bicycle and when you go to the supermarket you will pay for your grocery with eggs and empty bottles

I think your country's biggest problem is that as individuals, you don't care, or want to know, about other countries, but your successive gouvernments have paid way too much attention to them - in spite of not knowing anything about them, except that they are of interest, strategically or economically.

You want to keep staring at your own navel? It would be only healthy for most of you to really find out about e.g. your Latin American neighbours, and how your gouvernments have actually conspired to keep a clique in power there that has creamed off the wealth and led to millions of their poor crossing the border in search for a (marginally) better life.
