I'm 16 years old and I play for a varsity HS team...I already play first base well but I want to also play third and OF to become more well rounded with the game...does anyone play third or outfield and have any tips on how to play the positions?

Third base and you have to have a monster arm.
I did well at this location. But you have to be so accurate and fast.
You do not need that much speed just be able to do the lateral okay.
Outfield is not hard to adapt to, but you do need an arm to get to the cut off man. I watch baseball today and these pros stink.
I am 50 and old time players could nail the ball from deep outfield to the plate.

The best way to do this is to practice at each position. You're probably very comfortable at first now, because you've played and practiced a lot there. You probably also have quick reflexes, so you may be able to easily convert into a third baseman.

At third base, practice taking sharply hit grounders to your backhand and toward SS. Practice making the throw across the diamond. Start to learn how to anticipate when the batter is going to hit the ball your way.

In the outfield, practice judging high flies and line drives. Learn to hit cut-offs. Practice catching balls over your head.

You can do this by either having a friend help you out, or using a pitching machine to "hit" balls to you. I've found that the Zooka is good for both fly ball and ground ball practice:

With the Zooka as the "hitter," you'd probably need a ball feeder and also set up a net at first or second, to practice your throws by yourself. But, this would be an easy way to get practice in, if you don't have another person to help.

Good luck!

Wow what jerks.. properly I play third base ocasionally because of the reality that im a tumbler, yet third is a rather elementary place elementary to play. make certain you play on the grass whilst there's a smaller batter at bat. whilst there's a greater one stay back a sprint, and additionally whilst there's a rigidity play to third step on the bag than despite you think of you could throw to swifter, 1st or 2nd. whilst there's a rigidity play to 2nd throw it to 2nd. additionally value the grounders whilst they arent coming in rapid. additionally! watch the bunts! once you think of they are going to bunt get up into that grass. shop your glove grimy. Odds are your coach placed you there reason you got a rifle for an arm. third to 1st is an prolonged stretch, yet once you throw annoying and precise. bear in ideas you got an outstanding style of time so do no longer basically chuck it. make certain you got it down than get the out! solid luck!
