Oh Lord, the answer is Yes!

And people are getting more and more reserved in their dealings with others as to make giving someone a hug impossible.

It is a sad situation, when people need hugs most they are most likely to yell and scream, "He's touching me!"

g-day!

YES. AND YES. This was one of the most profound and deep question I heard for a long time. ....
What will you do if you now find out that the world indeed needs more hugs? An idea is to develop a "Hug therapy" or go to TV channels proposing a 5 minute hug program after each national News broadcast.
I like to get a hug. My son luckily is a high hug giver. But the world as such is in need of HUGS. -:) Sweet caring hugs. Even the bad boys would soften up. Do you think Bush needs a hug?

If we lived in a perfect world I would say yes, how ever the world we live in today you have to watch because some people do not liked to be touched by any one that close. There are to many weird people out there and as they are hugging you they could be putting a hand in your pocket and taking something or money while giving you this so called hug. And then you have small children that get molested that started out as a hug but turned into something else later on because I have always told my children not to let any one touch them any where unless it was a hand shake, and any more you have to watch about teachers in school because of all the news you hear about what goes on in some schools. So I say if it isn't family and you have to watch some of them any more , that is the last thing we need is any more touching than necessary. I had an Uncle once that would hug me so tight I could hardly breathe and my breasts were smashed up against his chest so I certainly do not want my children to have hugs like that from any one.

Absolutely!

We have clear scientific evidence that babies who are not appropriately touched when they are born soon die.

I live in a part of the world where people are stiff and cold and the suicide rate is 2nd in the world.

Japan is the first. How often do you see them hugging each other? On the contrary, they have an extremely "no touch" society yet are the most sexually violent and suppressed society in the world in every aspect.

A resounding yes to more hugs, appropriate that is!
