This is a tricky one. If your goal is to keep the peace, one of you will have to back down. Which puts the balance of the relationship in jeopardy, which causes even more problems. If both of you are wanting to resolve the conflict and come to a resolution that keeps both parties intentions and feelings in mind, then each of you have to say your sorry and that you love the other one. Once you understand that both of you love each other, then discuss the differences that are driving the conflict and seen what kind of compromise can be worked out.

Again, it will take both of you to get over it. If only one side of the equation is ready to listen to the other side, more problems will arise in the days ahead.

Say you're sorry and mean it.

A fight (which is what I assume you mean by "argument") is not the same as a difference of opinion. You will have lots of differences of opinion with your spouse; it is how you approach them which determines whether they turn into fights.

The only reasonable resolution of a fight between loving spouses is an apology. You don't need to apologise for having a difference of opinion, only for allowing it to develop into a fight.

Make a rule of never, ever sleeping on an unresolved fight.

Hello
Sit down with your spouse - have an indepth discussion about the "argument" both ask questions and also listen to each other - ask ALL questions that you want resolved or answers to - let him do the same until you both feel reasonably satisfied - then agree not to bring the subject up again - and move on... :-)

If you really want the argument to be over, you apologize.

Ask yourself. Would I rather be happy, or right? Then, simply let it go.
