I want to know if there are hills in Las Vegas that over look the city like Beverly Hills over looks
L.A.? And what's the name of those hills?

Las Vegas is a valley surrounded by hills and mountains so there are some places with excellent elevated views around town. The major difference between LA and Vegas is that in Vegas a vast majority of the surrounding land is owned by the Federal Govt while just about the entire stretch of the Hollywood Hills in LA is privately owned. The Feds release land here and there for development but you will never see what is in Beverly Hills.

Yes there is, I lived there 4 many years. Although not as tree lined and bushy as CA. Vegas has suburban areas in the S.E and Summerlin areas directly west and NW of the Strip, if you own a home in those areas some have incredible views toward the strip and downtown sections. There is a place in the southeast called Seven Hills, I believe there is a golf course there called Rio Seco, it has elevated areas with some good views etc. Also East of Las Vegas on East Sahara boulevard and Lake mead drive there are elevated sections with quite upmarket residential communities, Im sure would cost a pretty penny. Cheers.

I live in Henderson on the side of a mountain and look west to the Red Rock canyon and Las Vegas. So the hill profile may be a little different, but you. Las Vegas is in a valley sorrounded by some very steep elevations.
In Henderson they are making some new multi million homes on the side of another mountain and it has spectacular view of LV and the airport.

People move here thinking it will be like being on vacation every day of the year. It is a big let down when they find that they actually have to work and will also begin to avoid the strip. Suddenly your bubble bursts and realize that it is like any other city. Then you find that people who live here are not very friendly. Everyone seems to stay to themselves. You probably will never get to know your neighbor. The city is designed that way. A huge brick wall surrounds almost every back yard (which is tiny compared to most other cities). People come home and pull into their garage and you never see them again. They don't sit out in their back yards or on their front porches and socialize. You pointed out some very good things about the city However almost every house looks like the next. Very little changes. Seems all houses in the developement look alike. Giant walls surround most developments to provide security but when you walk on the sidewalk that is all you see are walls. Better get use to HOA. Just adds to the politics of everyday life. The school system is one of the worst in the nation and the bus system was designed in the 70's and hasn't changed much since. Sure the buses are modern but the routes are terrible. When part of their direction is to get from one place to another includes walking distance and time between bus stops is terrible planning especially traveling N and S. Here is an article that will help burst the bubble before making a big move. Then you have people like myself that love it here.

are you looking for a house or condo? is that why you are asking? if you are just asking because you want to take photos, ya, there are tons of places. if you want a house with a view of the city / strip, that can be found to, but it takes a little work.

i'm a realtor here in las vegas. i'll find you a place, never a fee to work with me.

Las Vegas is in a VALLEY, therefore we are surrounded by MOUNTAINS not hills.

We have Red Rock Canyon, Spring Mountain, Mount Charleston (near by), Lone Mountain.

Summerlin has great views of the city plus you're right next to Red Rock canyon which is goregous and you got local casinos like Red Rock Station. Suncoast and the Rampart all right there. Plus next to the Suncoast they're finishing up building million dollar condo high rises
