Please NO smarta-s answers..........I have worked at the same hospital for 16 years and am contemplating going back to school for something other than what I am doing now........only because I am bored at what I do. It would take me 3, 4 at the most semesters to finish.........HOWEVER! I am pretty sure I will be making approximately the same amount of money I do now, what do you think? One of my best friends is going for her CRNA right now and she just turned 44........

I went back to school full time at 40. I had about 3 semesters left to finish my degree. It's so much fun that I haven't left school yet.

I went on and got another Bachelor's after the first, just finished an MA, and am working on my MBA. 45 now and still going.

I will be Dr. before I decide to finish and may be Dr. Dr. ...

Education is a wonderful thing to have and it's so much more fun as we're older and can appreciate it more.

Go for it!

You don't say what you have been doing for the past 16 years, (nurse) if you are bored, it could mean you are not happy at what you are doing. Contemplating going back to school? What would you like to do? Something in the field you have been working? Perhaps another field were you can use your present skills. You mentioned money, and age. Usually what we love to do, we do it well, therefore, you will earn the money. Age, there is no age limit to education. Just don't quit your present job. Check this site, maybe it will give you some idea of what is happening as we go into the 21st century. Just go for it!!

Education is good at any time/ all the age. Prophet Mohammad SAW said "Seek knowledge from cradle to grave".
