they often talk like they're uneducated, thats why. notice i said OFTEN. i am not talking about every single rapper. also, whether or not a song has a message in it or not has nothing to do with how educated the artist is. the most braindead failure of an elementary school dropout can put a message into a song if they have a basic understanding of ANY language. thats all it takes. if you say something that someone else can understand, youre conveying a message.
now i can tell this obviously wasnt a question meant to be answered, so stop cluttering the site with your hip-hop rant crap and save this site for a real question.

well 1st i dontthink all of them are uneducated and uneducated is not the correct word.

I would call it not creative. I enjoy the ones who dont feel like they have to call women b*tches every 3 seconds or talk about how being a criminal is cool. there are many good ones out there but at the same time there are a lot of them out there who have no talent at all and if it wasnt for kids who think it is cool to be a gangsta they wouldnt have a job.

By the way it doesnt take an education to sell a lot of albums. my 6 year old nephew can rhyme words it takes singing talent plus some dont even write what they sing.

most people are just sterotyping when they say all.

I've never heard anyone say that. In fact some of the worst offenders are well educated. Sean Combs has an MBA yet recorded a song as Puff Daddy that repeats the phrase "[n-word]s and bitches".

Under-educated does not mean "stupid", and it certainly doesn't mean someone is not "street-smart".

If you listen to someone speak and they frequently mispronounce or misuse words, or use the wrong words, you could reasonably assume that they did not know any better. You would conclude that they were under-educated, or perhaps President of the United States.

Most of these rappers are not under-educated. They are smart. They just know what would sell and what would not. People should not judge them. They do not even know them.
