In oil Pressure Gauges Mechanical aka direct feed are best.
But you have to run the tubing from the block to the meter. And believe me some of these new carsit is impossible lmost to find the oil sending unit. Electronic is good not a bunch of tubing to worr about.

Basically the difference between a mechanical and electric gauges comes down to the way the gauge reads the individual item being monitered. Electric gauges will have a sensor that will transmit an electrical signal to the gauge where it will convrt it to a gauge reading, A mechanical gauge will deliver the item being monitered to the gauge, say oil. from a safety stand point the electrical gauges tend to protect the operator from hazardous conditions. Electric gauges can be less accurate, if systems are not correctly wired or wiring problems exist. It comes down to what you like and really what you want. BTW all voltage gauges are the same, no mechanical type, coolant temp electric sends a voltage signal, mechanical use a capilary tube (basically a copper tube that heats up and moves the gauge )

No matter what type of gauge you use you still have to run wire to the gauges.

To use LED or analog is really up to you.

LED is more accurate but if your not in the Indy 500 then analog is just fine you.

Analog gauges should be all set up to recieve the signals from your coolant temp switch. Just make sure your not tapping into
your coolant temp sensor to your computer,
AS they run on millivolts and you will burn your computer system up. THe same goes for your volt meter. The best way to hook your volt meter up is directly from your battery. Then you will have a reading from your alt., should be 13.8 to 14.2 depending on the load you put on it.

Hope this helps you.
Sincerely yours,

I don't think you can find a 'mechanical' water temp gauge.
For the oil pump, I'd go electrical, (sender under the hood & wires to the gauge). You don't want an oil line into the passenger compartment. To much of a failure point.
For charging, it's just a voltmeter anyway.
