Boys who call girls to chat - more than friends?

Question

I was told by a couple of guys that no guy would call a girl on the phone just to chat with her unless he wanted more than basic friendship from her. I argued that (different sex) friends do chat on the phone without wanting more. So, who's right?

Yeah, the situation is I have a male "friend" who calls me to chat and talks for like an hour with me when he calls. He looking to be more than a friend? I'm completely naive about these things haha.

P.S. And, I'm in my early 20s so this isn't really a middle school thing.

A majority of the time it is, but then again it depends on who this guy is.

If the guy's single, chances are there may be even the most minute attraction involved. The sad part is, you may actually be having truly engaging, interesting, thoughtful conversations. However, (and this is only in cases I've encountered) if he were to get a girlfriend, the frequency of his calls might diminish substantially.

The best way to tell is to get on the topic of sex, or what you're looking for in a relationship. If he jumps at the chance to tell you all the ways he agrees with you, and is completely compatible with your own thoughts and viewpoints on those subjects, odds are he's interested in you. There is a slim chance he's just really frank about the subject, but once you're in that conversation, you will be able to tell whether or not he's being flirtatious.

there are some guys that would call a girl for more then being friends but there are also guy that would call a girl just for a chat and to get to know them more this guy must like you but i dont think he wants more then friendship from you....he might ask you out later on

calling a girl just to talk to her and to be friends is great! thers nothing wrong with that. it depends if he calls alot or not
