Car runs good when its cold but when it heats up it starts popping a little and light black smoke starts coming out of the exhaust. It also has a rough idle to it and has a bad odor. It's not the catalytic converter or the oxygen sensor because I've replaced both. It doesn't seem like it's lost any power either. The check engine light is on and when I check the code it just says that the system is lean. Does anybody have any ideas? It's not a major issue but I would like to get it fixed.

any time black smoke comes out of the tail pipe it can only mean one thing, too much fuel. what is the odor, does it smell like rotten eggs(failing catalytic converter)or do you smell something else. i kind of need more information to find a solution. as for the code did you erase it after replacing the cat and o2 sensor?

Possibly fuel pressure regulator issues.
