What took them so long to figure out that a 4-stroke is better for the high bar than the 2-strokes

Because the 2 stroke is still the lighter more flickable bike.

Four strokes have a lot of gyro motion in the motor so two storkes are easier to move around in the air. If you don't know what I mean by "gyro motion" think of a flywheel on a bike motor - something that keeps spinning after the throttle is no longer applied. Theres not a lot of that in 2 stoke motors but in 4 strokes theres a lot of spinning moving parts.

Ronnie Renner is a absolute freak when it comes to whipping a bike (Ive actually seen him whip a bike completely upside down) and that is exactly what you need to be able to do to get the bike to clear the high bar. (Im not really sure why it took him so long to join this competition - its tailor made for him!)

4 strokes keep getting better all the time and they keep evolving so like the GOAT said last night, dont be suprised if next year every bike is a 4 stroke.
