I have spent many years in Mexico and have yet to meet one Julian.
Name him Jamal or Kareem, so when he submits a job or loan application they can just throw it away instead of having to go through the trouble of having him come in and then throw it away?

People's names have much to do with how people see themselves as well as how other people see them.
Rather than look at "black" or "white", why not look at heritage? What are the names of your child-to-be's ancestors from both sides of the family?
Unfortunately, in the United States, more often than not, businesspeople look at a person's name to determine that person's race because many job applications do not allow for specifying race. So, if an employer wants to discriminate, they look at a person's name and many ethic individuals are not granted an interview if a business does not want too many minority employees.
If you prefer ethnic-sounding names, why not use one along with a more traditional Anglo name. Then, your child can choose to use one or the other.
Your wording "sounds really white" and sounds "mexican" does not seem very tolerant, but I don't think that you intended to offend anyone.
Julian is a form of the Greek name "Julius".

You dont need to be scared of who you are. You are gay and thats it. The reason why other guys make fun of gay kids is because they are intimidated by them. They know that the gays get hit on by girls more cuz they are better looking. They think that you might hit on them no matter how ugly they may be. But you shouldnt worry, because someday they will need your help. Do you have a best friend? thats the first person you should be open to. Not parents. Not yet anyway. You need to really talk to you best friend. If they trully are, they will understand you, how u feel, how u see things, and they will be there and back you up. Next close friends little by little. Parents are the hardest believe me. Not the other snotty kids. Do your parents know btw? you can IM me if you want whenever you have any questions about anything or just wanna talk to a friend that will understand and have been throught the same thing.

I don't get the thing about the "mixed" baby thing.
Gosh aren't we all mixed. I am swedish/Norgen
Thinking of mixed means there is an edge of rasism to me.
OMG how on earth does the name Noah sound really white.
Geesh. Please don't put lables on your kid. I have dated black men and four out of five had what you might term......'white names" I don't get why you can't just think of your child as a child. Why hang lables on him?
Well if you insist...........

Don't play the race card with an unborn child. If you want significance go for a name that has positive meaning. Or go with your gut and name the child what you believe will be the best name. Name him after a grandfather, uncle or other ancestor. First name from daddy's side (since it's a boy) and middle name from your side. But please don't make it a race thing. Like others told you, those names are neither Mexican or white. They are Hebrew and Greek. And who cares anyways.... Why don't you look at their meanings.
According to thinkbabynames.com: "The boy's name Noah \noah\ is pronounced NOH-ah. It is of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is "peaceful". Also possibly "long-lived", "comforter", or "wanderer". I think both of those names are good names with a strong tone to them. And I do love the name Xavier Christian.

Pick a name that sounds good with his last name.
I read some where you should imagine your baby's name on a business card. Does it sound dumb? Too ethnic? Not a name people will take seriously?
My son's name is Ian (Scottish Name) & we're hispanic. His 1st & last name have a great flow. And he doesn't have too many other kids with the same name, like all the Chris', Joshs & Jacobs in his class
Good look, try some baby books also!
I'm sure what ever you decide will be just right for you little one!!!!

Hi,
My husband hates being called Julian, too much of 'julie' for him in school. Think on that!!
I think naming the child what you like is better than naming how the world sees what 'should' be black or white.I know an asian child named Matteo, and Italian name, and it really suits him. What matters is that you both like the name!!
Have fun!!

Julian is not Mexican ... its Latin and Noah is Hebrew ... neither are racially specific .. if you are having a baby of mixed races than he should have a strong & proud name ... but don't go crazy and spell it funny ... keep with common spelllings.
I think Michael, Mason, Matthew, Alexander, Nathan and Elijah are nice ... and they apply to all ethnicities.
