I don't think the Yankees gonna catch the Red Sox, the Red Sox just made a trade to make sure they can secure the division by trading for Eric Gange one of the best closer if he's healthy, remember he's set league record for consecutive saves in a row of 89 games without blowing a saves. Yeah it's that guy, so i don't think the Yankees gonna catch them. But i do think the Yankees gonna win the Wild Card race and make a serious run at the post season.

They are slipping because thye played the Mariners. AKA a good team. You sqaushed the mighty Royals, and the formidable White Sox. Wait until you get to that hard stretch coming up. From August 10th to August 30th you play 6 series. Here is how it goes. At Cleveland(3 game set)Baltimore(3 gamer)Detroit(3 gamer)At Los Angels Angels of Anehiem of the USA(3 game)At Detroit(4 games)Boston(3 game). Sure you might beat up on the Royals and White Sox but taking 2 out of 3 from any of those teams, except the Orioles, will be a challenege.

Combined record of 5 teams you play from August 10th to August 30th-303 wins and 239 losses.

Combined record of teams you played from July 12th to August 8th-244 wins and 297 losses.

I don't see the yankees winning the division. They currently are 7 games back. It's not impossible but the redsox's have great pitching and a great bullpen.so I don't see them slipping. However, I see the yankees winning the WC easily.

Sign me up or put a "check" from me on your question......"it ain't over till its over".....this is going to be 1978 all over again..they have 6 games left with each other (3 towards the end of this month)...and they are only 7 behind....they were 13 behind in 1978.....they won't even need a "Bucky Dent game to get there! GO YANKEES! STINKIN RED SOX!

This won't happen, and I have my doubts about the Yankees getting the Wild Card.

Not this year. The Red Sox have what it takes. That's why they've been in 1st place all year long.
