I get UTI's a lot, but I never go to the doctor for them. I just run to the grocery store and buy a large bottle of Ocean Spray's Cranberry Cocktail. It works like a charm. Cranberries contain antioxidents that are known to cure UTI's. Of course, it's always best to have your doctor double check at least the first time, but after that, they can give you a prescription for reoccurrences, but the cranberry juice should clear it up in a day or two. Plus, drink lots of water and cut our your soda's too.

you don't need to go to a gyno for a uti. You can go to a regular doctor, but the longer you wait, the worse it will get, so I'd recommend an ER or urgent care.
A uti has to do with your urinary tract, which is completely seperate from your vagina. You need antibiotics, not a fungal or yeast medication.
If you do have a urinary tract infection, you will feel like you have to urinate very often, but when you go, very little will come out. As the infection progresses, your urine will become pinkish, and then red. There may be pieces of tissue in your urine.
If this is the case, you'll probably also be very uncomfortable. You should see a doctor right away. They'll want you to give a urine sample (pee in a cup) and they'll test it and then prescribe antibiotics.

If you have a urinary tract infection, it will affect both your kidneys & bladder. You need to drink plenty of water, and you can also drink cranberry juice to help flush some bacteria out but you really need to go to the doctor because the only way to clear up a UTI is with antibiotics, the longer you wait the worse it will get. If you can't get in to see a doctor over the weekend, go to Wal-Mart and get a box of AZO-Standard, it will turn your urine a reddish orange but it will stop the burning feeling. (Also, it will stain your under garments so use something to protect them. )

There are other causes besides having sex that can cause a urinary tract infection. Holding urine back or bacteria from the bowels can also cause it. Depending on where you go get checked, the exam and medication can be alot of money unless you go to a free clinic. I would have that checked immediately because if you neglect it, the infection can travel and damage your kidneys.

You need to go to urgent care and get your urine tested. You need antibiotics if it is an infection. Left untreated it could spread to your kidneys or blood stream and cause more problems. Also GYN docs are not the ones that usually deal with UTI's your regular doc handles those. Since it is a weekend use urgent care and go get this treated right away before it gets worse.

You dont need to see a gyno for a UTI. Just go see your regular doctor if you need to. However, you can usually cure a UTI at home by drinking 2 big glasses of water every couple hours. Good luck. Or you can drink a big glass of cranberry juice. same deal.

No more sugar until it clears up. Get cranberry pills. Drink lots of water. You can drink cranberry juice, but get the 100% pure, no sugar added kind.
