Lying is not needed if what you are trying to prove is true. Lies are just useful against truth. Truths are just useful against lies.

If you lie in order to prove something that is true, there is still this another truth that you lied against. If that is the case, then that truth that you are trying to prove by lying is not really a truth but just another lie.

Truth is truth. If it needs a lie to exist, then it is a lie.

The truth?Perhaps people through the ages have lied about everything in order to harness power and control over other people. The truth is possibly held in trust by only the very select few, and passed on through generations in secret (?) brotherhoods and even some religions.

How many will discredit science even if it is proven time and time again?

How did you know what is right or wrong? You were taught your truths and falsehoods. Does that teaching make them truth and lies?

What do I really know, and for that matter , everybody else?

Lies cannot prove the truth. But, in order to convince idiotic people and rascals, a small amount of lies (< 5%) may be amalgamated with truth. This works miracles.

Yes, but only ultimately and where there is no other option and the establishment of truth because of that lie is 100% sure to yield the expected results.

the question is redundant in so far that the truth will prevail...sooner or later. Very bad tactic to use to make your point......way too many "holes" in a lie and you will be busted! Say what you want to say strait out.

No! When people found out you are lying, no matter how truth is the true. They will not believe you again. Believe it a not lie can't keep in the bag for long.

no, but i would lie if i knew for sure to not lie would do irreparable damage. the easiest example would be the little lies parents tell to children to protect them. that same example used always but of course adjusted according to context. one of the best examples is an existentialist who is strong enough to get someone to question their faith. well, what then? now one person has the satisfaction of winning the argument, while another must deal with tragic news. one must make sure to follow ethical conduct in these situations.
