depends on the flies. big flies that eat food and hatch out of dead things- screeen, get rid of garbage or cover it, and dont leave food out. Little ones that just float around- are eating things in the air get a fan or change the direction of the air flow.

theres some fly traps that have something in them that their attracted to and they go in it and are trapped their until natural death, since they only live for like a day. try it. I got mine at a Fred Meyer. Oh and it's sound proof for the big house flies that are reallllly annoying. with their little buzzy wings. Oh and close your door so nothing can get in form the outside.

Keep food covered and in the fridge to keep from attracting them to it.

Next keep the trash & garbage away from the back door since they lay eggs and the flies develope in the trash. Keep fly spray around to spray the trash cans to deter the growth.

Keep doors and windows closed as much as possible so they won't fly in. No incentive to be attracted, they won't come around.

Just get fly strips. They're gross and they're messy but once you get the flies stuck on there you can throw it away. And then work to keep them from coming in.
