Yes, it's OK. It provides a needed service. It keep families together by taking away the need for affairs. It helps single mothers to support their families even if it's a way that lacks dignity. It helps poor girls get through college, if they can only play tourist with the drugs and not move in. Many other Industrialized nations, like Germany, require the Prostitute to earn a license and undergo weekly VD checks. Those girls are professionals. This helps the girls become upwardly mobile and eventually find another line of work. This stimulates the economy. This keeps the girls with serious habits in support programs. This eliminates the trade in illegal sex, and some of the horrible kidnapping trade stuff, by creating a legal, monitored outlet for the most natural of activities. Think of all the televangelists who have been caught with paid sex partners before you listen to any of those who would use their religion to oppress the freedom of sexual expression and those who might profit from it. Hail Thor!

I hate it when girls find this wrong, because the girl is doing this prostitution to make her money and if she wants to do it, then I'm fine with that. I don't like prostitutes to have sex with them or anything but I'm not gonna be a stupid idiot and say something like NO ITS DEGRADING TO WOMEN.

I'd seriously like to see some people try to make a living in the same circumstances of a prostitute, minus having sex with everyone to make money or whatever. Keep in mind Homeless people cannot get jobs these days, its virtually impossible for them

I mean, I thought this was America, this was America

No, it is not OK. Prostitution demeans women, even though if you talk to them, they will swear they are doing what they want to do. On the men's part, it plays into the whole sexual addiction problem.

I have heard it said that prostitution would stop or alleviate rape and child abuse. That is ridiculous. Rape and child molestation are both crimes of Power. Although they use sex as a way to hurt and debase their victims. It is really not about sex.

It is sin. Plain and simple. A sin that like other sins, can be forgiven. Those who have been involved can be delivered from this evil. Their lives can be restored. Jesus is ready to hear their prayer of repentance, if they sincerely call on his name.

Absolutely, prostitution should be legal, regulated and taxed.
I see no problems with this arrangement, if that is what a woman (or man) wants to do then I see no issues with it.

I mean, I'm not going to take my children on a stroll through the red light district, but what consenting adults do on their own time in private is NONE of my business...

I wish people wouldn't keep saying that prostitution is the oldest profession in the world!

Research shows that 'farming' is the oldest profession....

Most of the time.

Most hookers start underage, that is even more true world wide.

But, like drugs, many of the evils spawn because it is illegal. I like Sweden's law. It's only a crime for the John. Hence a lady of the evening wouldn't hestitate to report and abuser, at least hypothetically.

It is the oldest profession in the world. I have no problem with prostitutes, as long as they're in a brothel. I don't like the street walkers.

I personally think if someone wants to sell their body and someone else wants to pay money for it, that's their problem. I also believe, though, that it should be regulated like in Nevada in order to avoid the spread of disease and the such.
