Okay.. so you know how on the door of cars (specifically a GMC safari van) there is a button that you press to move the window up and down. my boyfriend hit his fist against it (on accident) and it popped down into the side of the door and we can't get it out =( it's not my car, it's my mom's and we didn't have the chance to tell her tonight because she was asleep when we got home. how much could it possibly cost to get fixed, tops? we tried unscrewing that part of the door but it wouldn't budge. the window works perfectly fine still, it's just the button that's stuck. help?

think your over-reacting for such a small situation. It could be the switch got jammed in there, or it broke and yet still works. I am sure that a junk yard/dealer/auto store would have one, pretty cheap.

The button housing is made out of pot metal and your BF must have broke the tabs off the button. I'm not sure of the cost, but something $40 dollars sounds about right and then there is the labor to install it. I would guess close to a $100 at least.

What I would do would be to go over to Radio Shack or Lowe's and get a double throw toggle switch and wire it up yourself, just find the wires connected to the window motor. Two household light switches would also work, they cost about 50 cents a piece. Good luck.

The window isnt in its standard track the only way to fix it is to take the window out and put it back in its track. Without alot of knowledge and experience this can be really tricky. if you take it too a shop they may cut you a deal beacuse its not that hard for them

Go to a glass shop, they may be able to fix you up with just labor cost. I recently had 3 switches replaced, and it only cost me $150.
