...old TV's with metal cabinets and cloth speaker covers with a small picture tube and, you always had to "tune" and adjust the horizontal and vertical...there were 3 stations, ABC, NBC, and CBS with the PBS as well...that was it.....no cable, no satellite dish with a bizillion channels like now...Good Grief, it was the Tech. Stone Age for sure

I was born in the 70's and grew up in a small town so I remember things like refillable pop bottles from the bottle shop those were a treat when my parnets had parties we always got them. Ice cream socials friday night movies on a projector screen at the town hall. Yes we had a town hall until we moved to the big city population 25000 lol And of course when we got our first microwave oven.

The New Wave and New Romantic look of the early 80's (also the aftermath of Disco look....I was born in the late 70s'). In fact, the disco music!

The cartoon Mighty Mouse and Howdy Doodie! Saddle shoes, gym uniforms, S&H greenstamps, woolworths,3 pieces of candy for a penny, laundry hanging on pully lines going across streets to other buildings, black and white t.v. only with 3 fuzzy channels that all went off at 11 p.m., rotary phones and the phone numbers started with letters ( mine was DE1-4747) Dam, I am old, thanks for bringing that to my attention!

i remember the old hbo logo. it was magical. the movie would be about to start and you would take a little ride through the h the b and the o like you flying through space. it definitely almost always eclipsed the movie you were about to watch. that's probably why they changed it.
