I heard about it when I was IMing a girlfriend, her husband had phoned and told her. He always takes that bridge home and he knows lots of friends and relatives that use that bridge on a daily basis! They were pretty freaked and almost having heart attacks in case someone they knew was on it at the time! But, you have to get past that. Anything could happen at any given moment, no matter what you are doing! It is a freak thing and chances are most people will never experience anything like that! You still have to do the everyday things, you can't let something like that control you.
Any one of us could be in a freak accident tomorrow or a year from now. You can't live your life worrying about it!
Best to you!! Keep on living!!

I try not to let it bother me. Today's newspaper headline (Fri, Aug. 3) here was "60 Local Bridges Rated Deficient." When I saw that, a chill raced down my spine. I travel across the Peace Bridge to Canada on a near-weekly basis, and that headline just disturbed me. It's hard, but I try not to think too much about it. It was horrible, but it's not that common.

I don't have to drive over any bridges but I am sure I would be nervous since the bridge collapse in Minneapolis / St. Paul.

It doesn't really bother me. Except for the George Washington Bridge in NYC... ever since I saw the whole thing from the ground i've just been really paranoid.

I don't worry about the bridge collapsing. For the most part, I worry about the width. Two lane bridges worry me the most--they feel too narrow. As for long bridges, they don't have those where I live, so I don't think much about it.

Maybe I'm weird but I love to go over bridges especially with water underneath.

I'm a bit more hesitant than before but that won't stop me from driving over the Golden Gates. =)
