My son is 5 yrs. old, and his dad is only ordered to pay $10.00 a week. Yeah, enough to pay for a couple gallons of milk that week. The reason the judge says it is so low is because the dad (if you want to call him that) is on partial disability, and my son can't draw off of the disability because it is a state funded type of disablility. And he does not work although he is aloud to work 20 hrs a week. To top it all of he doesn't even pay the $10.00 a week like he is ordered to pay. What can I do? Please if you have any information let me know. Thanks from Mommy in Indiana.

Petition the court to have the money garnished directly out of his checks. That way he cannot get away with not paying it.

Unfortunately, Iowa law is the same about being on disability. No one can force him to work the 20 hours per week. You need to contact the child support recovery unit in your state. They will force a back payment of due support and then have it automatically deposited into your account every week. Start with the link below.

I don't know much about law in Indiana, but I've dealt with cases similar to this. I would call an attorney. They should be able to help. If he can work, even if only part-time, he should have to, so he can pay a little more support.

Well if its like it here in ga you can report him and first thing they will do is take his Driver liscense away or put him in jail. Ga is pretty strict on child support, or you take him to court again. and the judge may be able to order that a check be sent to you out of his account from disabillitl not sure thou
