This country does not have enough electricity to pump water for its toliets. So how does one imagine huge ARMS & AMMUNITION INDUSTRY without electricity to run the machines? Obviously, the Americans, Russians, Chinese and Europeans are SELLING WEAPONS to all the terrorists across the globe Afghanisthan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Iraq, Palestine, Israel, etc. What a BIG JOKE on humanity!
The funny thing is the guys selling Arms have formed the COALITION AGAINST TERROR - Ha Ha Ha!

All of those things are made out of opium poppies in Afghanistan.

So, if the UN agrees to buy the opium from the farmers that can not make a living off of any other crop and use it to make opiate drugs instead of making synthetic opiates, then problem solved. To add to Dave's answer: The Ottoman Turks routinely cast their cannons at the site of a seige and used rocks as ammo. It isn't that hard and that was 4-500 years ago. Guns and ammunition are often made by prisoners in prisons with whatever is at hand. Gasoline and styrofoam makes a nice bomb. Black powder is charcoal, sulfur, and salt peter. Chlorine gas can be made by mixing urine and chlorine bleach. Militia members were expected to make their own ammunition and bring it with them to musters in the 13 colonies and later the USA. Where there is a will, there is a way.

1. Making a gun like the AK47 is easy. It was designed to be easy to make, using simple stamped parts. You can do the same thing with a hammer and mold. Also, guns have been around for over 500 years so it is not rocket science to make one.

2. Making bullets is also easy once you have the casing. Since there are around 50 billion shell casings for the AK47 there is no shortage of them. Just stick in a new primer, load in some powder, stick on a new bullet and you got a new round.

3. China has been making rockets for over 2000 years. It does not take a high tech nation to make them. (So much for rocket science being high tech.)

4. Bombs are nothing but rockets that do not have an exhaust. Instead of going up, they go out in all directions.

(By the way, toilets do not use electricity. The water flows due to gravity. The Romans figured that out 2000 years ago.)
