As Casey says...you blew it. It is purely cosmetic anyway. It doesn't interfere with the counter top being a counter top. If you can live with it until you move, do it. Don't sweat about repairing it. When you move you may have to pay the piper. If you have been a good tenant and have stayed long enough the landlord may very well overlook it. If not, kiss your security deposit goodbye. It will be cheaper than replacing the counter top. One possible solution would be to tell the landlord about it. Offer to pay a portion of the replacement of the counter top. The advantage to him is that he gets a new counter top and gets help paying for it. The obvious advantage to you is that it will cost you less to repair the damage you caused. All is not lost though. You get to live in a place with a new counter top.

Ooohhh, I would sooo call a repairman. I've found a good one. I think that one tool of his could fix any problems I might be having!
But if he wasn't available he could probably just tell me on the phone how to make the repair myself. Sometimes that can be fun and challenging. =)
