I want to start shopping at American Eagle, Abercrombie, Hollister, and Aeropostale. Do you have any tips?

I AM NOT BUYING THOSE CLOTHES TO FIT IN! I WANT TO CHANGE, IT'S NOT UP TO YOU, IT'S UP TO ME!

To me, those stores are sooo over-rated. I mean, everyone shops there...do you want to look like every single other person you know or do you want to be original.

If you wanna be like them...go for it. Those stores do have cute stuff, I've shopped in two of them before. They do have cute stuff and I'm sure you can pull off the "girlie girl" look just fine.

If you wanna have your own "style"- shop everywhere. Don't just be one of those people that will only shop at one or two stores. Heck, if you like a pair of jeans at XXI, buy them. And so what if you happen to see a top you absolutely adore at Old Navy and flip flops at Wet Seal...do what you want.

Half of the fun of fashion is breaking all the rules but looking great doing it!!

Have fun!

If you really don't like those clothes, don't wear them. Just because everyone else is doesn't mean they are the thing for you to wear. Those clothes are expensive and a poor quality.

If you are buying those clothes just to fit in, don't.
The only person you have to worry about is yourself. After you graduate, go to college and start making a life for yourself, the only person you have to live with is yourself. Those people you try so hard to impress in high school end up being only pictures in a yearbook. (With the exception of a few good friends and they'll like you for who you are.) It's not worth spending all your time trying to be someone you aren't. Most people spend years figuring out who they are, if you already know, you're ahead of the game.
Just be yourself...

Start with tops.
Buy clothes that area flattering cut and color for you, not just because they are in style.
Get fitted Ts [ womans], tunics, blouses, tanks, camisoles, halters, in pastels and brights. [ Avoid screen printed Ts - too boyish, and avoid juvenile prints. ]
Try some skirts, capris, bermudas.
Make sure all separates have at least three other items you can wear them with.
Buy one or two cardigans, and a 'girly' jacket. [ no sweats or jean jacket ]
Then get some ballet flats, 'girl' skechers, skimmers, pretty sandals.

honestly i would say: don't. why would you want to buy these over-priced poorly made clothing lines? just for the label?? you can get just as good of clothes and feel much more individual and girly at other shops. i just think these shops are for the sheep. do you really want to look just like joeshmoe over there?
but otherwise if you want to go there-bring money

Ok, i think it is awesome that you want to make a change, not that you need to, but your not afraid to, and i think that if you just have fun with it your new wardrobe will fall into place! Good luck!

you should get cute colors and you dont necessary need to shop at those stores to get cute clothes. and you should start acessorizing your clothes to make it look girlie and buy some lipgloss or something.
