You need to find the WEP key, usually on the bottom of your home portal. Its a series of numbers and letters starting with "WEP." The key is so that nobody else (like your next door neighbor) can use your wi-fi to connect to the internet.

First, are you sure it's your network you are trying to connect to? and what is the brand of the router and who is your Service Provider?

Some methods you can try:
Access the router through internet explorer. Open up internet explorer and in the address bar type in: 192.168.1.1
This will then access the routers settings with a Login and Password prompt window. Here don't put anything for Login Name but instead type in admin for the password. In here you can go and change the WEP key or turn it off whatever you like, some routers are different. I know alot of brands that do this like Linksys for example.

Another method:
Try resetting the router completely, there is usually a small button in the back that you should hold down for atleast 30 seconds and then release.

Another method:
If it is an Actiontek router, try putting the following WEP: OFB3CA4D5D
This is the default WEP for that router.

If you are trying to connect to a neighbors network, then... I cannot further assist with that.

Hope any of this was helpful. Good day!

Perhaps someone has hacked into your unsecured wireless network.
Don't know what you are running for a router - but if you do not know the password - the router can be reset to default by pressing the reset button on the router. You can then set it up.

Or perhaps someone is wise to your stealing their connection:)

If you did not set one the laptop should accept just a carriage return (blank for password) and go on happily from there.

Check out the bottom of your router. The key may be located there.
