I believe it is very true. Lets say that someone came up to you and handed you two hundred dollars and told you they found it. Would you take it or would you refuse it on the grounds that you don't trust where it might have come from. What if he saw it fall out of an old lady's purse knowing she lived on a fixed income but didn't have the honesty to return it and you knew this about him but took it anyway. What would that do to your soul? Or do you look at it as free money? Is it too bad so sad for the old lady or what? I think that if you take the money, whether or not the old lady ever finds out, that a little piece of your soul dies. That things like that chip away at your self confidence and ego. Thats what I think that saying means. Everything has a price and its for keeps.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. Yes, even love is not free. Not in the monetary sense, but in the ammount of work put into it. Love doesn't just drop into your lap (pardon the pun) without effort. Even you being born into a loving family wasn't completely work free (for, well, your mom...just an example here...). I do believe that one thing in this life, or rather the next life, is completely and totally free. But this wasn't a religious discussion, so I guess I'll stop.

You have to earn most things, either by working (to get money to buy things) or being a good person (to get friends/respect/love) or by experiencing life and learning as much as you can (to obtain wisdom and knowledge)

Also, if tomorrow I wake up and it's a gorgeous, sunny day, it may seem like it's free but you could say that it came at a cost because someone somewhere is having crappy weather

It is only morality that can provide anything free...... since we are moving towards a 'no moral nonsense' type of society, we are moving towards the 'goal' of nothing comes for free. I sincerely believe that before we reach that goal, we may perish...... in other words till the very end, there would indeed be a few things coming for free!!

My opinion is is that it's the truth. You would have had to do something to get it for free so, therefore, it wasn't for free. You purchase a lottery ticket and your number rolls in, it took the thought of putting those numbers together so therefore, It wasn't for free. You had to use your mind. Nothing is for free !

My opinion, based on research and study says that many things come free: at present:: fresh air, God, the only true faith founded by Jesus through his apostles and not by a man such as Luther, Henry

Many things are free: God, fresh air, rain, and faith in the only Christ, Apostles founded church: Catholic.

I guess it's what you consider important in your life. I think things do come for free. I was born with my family all around me, and I didn't have to pay a single cent. And I'm in love, and my love never cost him anything to obtain. If you don't find love or family as important as other things, you'll take them for granted because you are used to them, and consider them insignificant, or "nothing."

nothing on this world is for free! Even the fresh air - oxygen- you breathe in, are not for free. There's a condition to take in fresh air that is payback with CO2. Even for mother love, condition are you must be their child. :) nothing issssss Freeeeee!
