if you ever go to the zoo watch the monkeys, preferably the chimps. they have a tendancy to mimic what they see much as we learn from seeing and doing so do they. so usually when someone does something usualy stupid followed by someone else doing the exact same stupid stunt it is refered as monkey see monkey do. as a side note it doesnt have to be something stupid, just something done in the exact maner as the person before them had done it. or as explained more clearly by wikipedia ""Monkey see, monkey do" is a traditional cliché that popped up in American culture in the early 1920s. The American version of this saying often refers to a child's learning process. The child observes another's behavior and then imitates it. This is often referred to in social psychology studies as the "Modeling Theory". The basis of this theory is that by observing a model's behavior and imitating it, there will be a desired learned effect. This is related to the concept of mirror neurons.

The European interpretation of this cliché is slightly different. In Britain, "Monkey See, Monkey Do" refers to the learning of a process without an understanding of why it works.

Monkey See, Monkey Do is also a book by Marc Gave published by Scholastic, Inc.'s Hello Reader! series designed to help children learn to read.

It refers to children, a monkey will learn, however does not have the ability to ask why.. Absence of human reasoning.
As is a child, a child will bevelop motor skill first (actions) then reasoning skills later. Referd to in statements like L.R.A.K
Being,.. learn, retain and apply knowledge. Without understood verbal communication, monkeys like Children will only watch you and copy you. Example; you play with fire a child will, unless the child understands verbal direction.

I personally play the violent games, and restrict any youth that come to my house to play the games. I also never play them while my children or their Friends are around. Being a parent is the biggest part of this issue. Too many people want to ban all violence in everything, and its because they do not want to take the time to limit their children. A well educated person (child) knows that a video game is just that. nothing real about it. These are just my personal views. To each their own.

It means when someone does something really stupid or idiotic and another person sees this action and they do exactly what the first person does without any questions asked.

Pretty much like the blind leading the blind.
