Hmm. Good idea. It's a health issue that needs to be addressed.
I don't date anymore, but, if I did there would have to be an AIDS test before there were any extracurricular activities.

These days more people are intimate before marriage (not all but most). Given that they should maybe have contracted the virsu from their significant other. There is probably no couple that uses protection 100% of the time (C'mon now...you remember that time when...and the protection was not there). If there are couples that are responsible enough to use protection at each and every sexual encounter good for you (teach the rest of us how to be so responsible).
Anyhow not only would a smart person get an HIV test before they are married but even when they decide to become intimate with anyone. Viruse unlike people, do not discriminate (Just because John/Jane Doe looks healthy and has never been sick means nothing) I know it will be an awkward thing to bring about but if your significant other cares about themselves and you they will do it. (Dont make them do it without being willing to do it yourself).

Excellent idea...in most states they require a standard STD blood test, so why not HIV? At one time, syphilis left untreated could kill you [they now have good treatments for it] so HIV is in a way the syphilis of today. Should be compulsory for premarital testing to get your marriage license.

Boy that's a tough one, I understand there are some states where a blood test is compulsory, so it is not out of the question.

These days, most couples begin their intimate lives before they get married. So that's already too late.
Would be good to find it out, tho, and so begin a good regimen of medical care. So, I guess it is a good idea.

in essence its a good idea, but will it really make that much of a difference when you are about to get married? most people have sex before marriage either way, so they would have already been exposed to the virus... even if their partner wasn't honest with them.

There should be no such thing as a compulsory medical test for any civilian not in prison.

well most ppl have had sex by the time they get to that point, so it might not help with anything because they would have already been exposed. Better to get tested regularly if your not monogamous and get tested with your partner if you in a new relaionship....so no.
