I responded to a question today where I told of my support for the Global War on Terrorism. I mentioned that I am a U.S. Soldier. The person who asked the question then added this,

"To Voice of Liberty--I hope and pray something happens to you while you "defend" our country and you get discharged at the convenience of the military."

This person was asking the question as an expression of his Liberal beliefs. Why is it that I never see Conservatives say evil, hurtful things such as this guy did? Especially to someone who is willing to fight for and die for HIS freedoms.

Conservatives understand and make up a large portion of the military.

Many liberals I have come across say the military is a bunch of terrorist, rapist, murderers, torturers, and only poor, uneducated that can't get a real job.

I suspect they are a throwback to the 60's when they actively spit on the military and called them babykillers.

Up to Sept 11th. You didn't show your military ID in public in many places of the US. You were denied service or completely ignored.

I think due to the fact that we have been attack that sentiment has been buried in alot of these people who truely hate the military, but they don't want to say anything due to the backlash from every other American around them.

As the Poll numbers come out they are emboldened to say their true feelings about the military.

They are simply digraceful and not deserving of the protection you and I and serveral others have given them, but we serve and they continue to hate us.

I don't know what the solution is but since they hide behind freedom of speech and we support the constitution they will continue until we stop protecting them, but that will never happen since we are also protecting our families and good Americans.

It is a cunnundrum we unfortunatly have to live with.

Remember the good ones out there. The bad ones will be silenced soon enough when we get attacked again or America learn that the military is turninging things around and doing a great job.

You only see, hear, taste, feel what you look to find. You will find these people in all walks of life. It does not matter what you do in life, its a matter of how things are.

Now your answer, McCain was inform he was a traitor because he supported the amnesty bill. The very people IE Conservatives you talk about called a man that suffer untold punishment in a cage a traitor.

BTW, I am doing what I can to help out. Thou I sometimes reflect as to why I am not doing more. I find that doing something is better than nothing at all.

I want YOU to know that I support you and wish the best for you. I do not want to see another soldier come home in a flagged draped coffin.... Thank you sir. IE I'm an Indep thou just to let you know.

That person did cross the line, I'll admit. However, I don't think you should categorize the issue into all liberals and all conservatives. Perhaps you don't think that conservatives say mean things because you believe them to be true. However, they can hurt a lot of people. What that particular liberal said to you doesn't really affect you on a societal level. I believe that those whose opinions hurt people on a daily basis by taking away rights or suppressing them are more hurtful. I do understand how you can be offended by that comment, but it's not a liberal-conservative issue. It has to do with maturity and just plain being a nice person.

Wish that jerks question was still open. At this point in the evening, morning, I would really give him a piece of my mind.
God Bless you Voice of Liberty!
p.s. Strike the Pose, what is your source for that quote?
p.s.s. Isn't it just like a true Liberal to try and reason there way out of an ugly situation with logic that doesn't work?

i'm a Conservative and there is in certainty NO application that the federal government provides that I dislike. might I proceed? What I "dislike" is the abuse of those courses. I dislike them to take money from SS and Civil/militia Pension money, replace it with US Treasury Bonds (IOU's) then spend it on further and further people who're abusing stable courses (I comprise protection as abusive spending alongside with SS and Welfare and Regulatory companies) See, there is not any courses "like Social secure practices" that we dislike this methodology, it is somewhat that we don't love how poorly they are operated, and the waste and inefficiency wherein they are administered. thank you for desiring the Conservative attitude. i will in basic terms talk for myself and how i seem at matters, nonetheless.

Most liberals have never served in the military and have no understanding of the sacrifices our military members make for their country. As you know the military has strict policies on not recruiting bed wetters, mommas boys, nose pickers and those with gender identity issues which pretty much eliminates most liberals from serving anyway. Their idea of serving...is behind the counter of Starbucks...protecting our double lattes from the terrorists.

For the same reasons that no other liberals do either -- it's an irrational perspective.

Don't blame an entire third of the country just because one person is being an idiot....

But also consider this -- many conservatives try to equate support for the war with support for the troops -- which is what that person is doing in reverse -- showing disrespect for the troops because of opposition to the war.

Everyone needs to understand that they are unrelated issues -- whether someone should be respected for doing their job, and whether the political decisions being made are wise.

Did you email him? Seriously it looks and reads like a typo:

"To Voice of Liberty--I hope and pray something happens to you while you "defend" our country and you get discharged at the convenience of the military."

How could you be discharged if something (God forbid) happened to you?? Are you sure he is not saying

"To Voice of Liberty--I hope and pray nothing happens to you while you "defend" our country and you get discharged at the convenience of the military."

and just made an error?

If you did email him and he confirmed this is what he wanted to say then the hell with him, but if you did not try to clarify it, maybe you should before you escalate

Conservatives do say things like that....only not to the military. Conservatives say things like "why don't we just nuke'em all" or " if we killed all the muslims, then we wouldn't have to worry". I, having served in Afghanistan, have heard strict republicans say these things. You don't think people in the middle east want the best for their children, yet we have the overbearing republicans wanting to "nuke'em all". So it does come from both sides, but you only feel the aggression coming from the liberals because when they say those things....it is directed at you. How many times have you objected to someone saying "we should just kill them all and get it over with"?

Most people I know who are moderates such as you and I, love life, our country and our freedoms, and we have the deepest respect for you and your brothers in arms that allow us to have this great life. And we are mostly pretty happy, positive people.

The socialists on the other hand are consumed by hatred.

Nothing more to add I think.
