My best friend recently intorduced me to her new boyfriend. He seemed nice enough but his age really did worry me. My friend is only 17 and the boy is 34... technically he is old enough to be her dad!

should i say something to her... or to him... or should i just accept it and say as little as possible

Oh wow.......
That really is wrong. You have ever right to be concerned. But I have to say this. You have to let her make her mistakes on her own. If you do this for her, she will come to you for everything and she will not be able to rely on herself. Maybe you should just tell her that you feel uncomfortable with this boy.... man. I mean, if she does end up falling in love with him... it could be a problem. Try not to over-do this talk you have with her though, again, the whole "rely on herself" problem could rise.
Good Luck and I hope it goes out as planned.
Tootles! :D

ok, any guy that is 34 and dating a 17 year old has something wrong with them. yes, i would say something. i mean really, if the guy was any type of a great catch he would be married by now or at least dating someone around his own age.

34 years old is not a man. What could an adult male possibly see in her besides something nice to look at and show off? He's a pedophile and your friend is searching for a father figure.

you should wait it out most likely shell get over him and go for a younger guy but you should be worried just look out for her but if you cant wait or you really want to say some thing be like what would your parents say and if you really care about him you would break up with because he could get in alot of trouble if the wrong person found out what you where doing or could be doing

Yeah, I would say something. That would really bother me seeing one of my friends dating a much older guy...That's way too old for a 17 yr. old. Plus, she is a minor...that makes it worse. Say something...please do, so no one will get hurt.

the main problem here is whether or not it's legal for him to be with her. if it isn't and someone decides to ring up the cops, he's going to be doing time if they're sleeping together so he might want to think twice and try to find someone closer to his own age.

Jennifer is right. I would advise you to stay away from him as well as your friend.
